The long awaited world extravaganza of Dubai Expo is finally reach here. The Expo 2020 is open for visitors from Friday, October 1 at a Special Venue in Jebel Ali, Dubai. The official opening ceremony of the Expo was held on Thursday night with extravagant cultural events. With this, the world will flow to Dubai for the next 6 months. The Expo is held in compliance with all of COVID safety standards.




The six-month- long world Expo  has been held every 5 year since 1996. The 2010 Expo was held in Shanghai, China. The city of Milan, Italy won the rights to host the 2015 Expo. The exhibition, which is attended by people from all over the world. Showcases achievements in the fields of Art, Science and Commerce. Special parties were held across the country on the evening of September 30 to witness the official opening ceremony live. Special screens were setup at Airports, Shopping malls, Hotels and Major buildings across the country. As part of the opening ceremony, the Expo will also feature eye-catching fireworks. Special colour shows were also organised at the Dubai festival, The point and The Frame.






192 countries are participate in the Expo. Expo 2020 Dubai's Themes Connecting Minds, Creating the Future. The Expo will also have three sub themes Mobility, Opportunity and Sustainability. The Opportunity pavilion is designed by AGI Architects, Alif - the mobility pavilion by Foster and partners,Terra Sustainability pavilion by Grimshaw Architects. Each theme is divided into each districts. District will include 200,000 Square metres of commercial and residential spaces, with bulidings like the Al wasal plaza being retained in the each district design.

  • Mobility District

The mobility district include the world's largest passenger lift, that can accommodate up to 160 people at a time. Alif - the mobility pavilion will become a commercial building, Several national pavilions included Australian pavilion, Korea pavilion and Russian pavilion etc...

  • Opportunity District

Mission possible - the opportunity district will be rebuilt mixed use space. There will be 2 hospitals, a school and 200,000 Sq m of office spaces and several national pavilions include China, Israel and Kazakhstan pavilions. The district will be connected road, and it is located near the Al Maktoum international airport. 

  • Sustainability District

The sustainability district will became a small science center. There will be a Hammour house, it's very attractive. The district stages that seats 300, and many national pavilions included here Brazil's walk through a waterfall, the Czech republic's water desert, the Singapore rain forest, Germany's wear cutting - edge devices, Terra pavilion and Netherlands pavilion. 


The general setup is such that it is not a burden to travelers during the COVID period. There is a free bus service to the Expo Venue. The standard ticket price is 95 dirhams. The 6 month pass is 495 dirhams and the 30 - day pass is 195 dirhams. But there is a special offer to visit the Expo for 30 days with an entry ticket called October pass, The price is 95 dirhams. The special benefit is only available until October 15th. The pass is valid for one month at the rate of one day visit. Tickets can be booked through the Dubai Expo 2020 website.
80 percentage of the UAE 's population received 2 doses of the vaccine, and the drop in COVID cases was the reason for the Expo. However visitors must present proof of vaccination or show a negative PCR test certificate.


The officials say more than 6000 childrens visit the Dubai Expo every day. Students and Teachers from schools in the UAE are part of the Expo. Students groups from colleges and universities also come to see the Expo. Thousands of students from different countries have registered to participate in the Expo, Which runs until March next year. 

Entry to the Expo is free for housemaids, who can visit as many times as they want. Authorities have said they need to submit a copy of their residence visa. The entry is free for senior persons over 60 years of age and kids under 18 years of age.
A mobile lab has been set-up to check the quality of food items distributed at the Expo venues. The lab, led by the Municipal team, conducted inspections in various area on a daily basis. Authorities ensure that all health standards, such as Hygiene and Quality, are met. Morethan 200 restaurants have a special area for kids. They also come from different countries as special chefs for kids. There are a number of events for kids, including Fairs, workshops, Road side entertainment, Parades, Concerts and Digital theatre. 
Kids and adults alike have the opportunity to travel in spacecraft simulators. You can see images taken by the probes on various missions, valuable evidence, Satellites and Equipment for future exploration.
Latifa's Adventures Expo has a special world that gives the impression of arriving on mass. There are also special events at the Aquarius tower in Al wasl plaza. Stars, Aliens and cartoon characters are waiting to be with the kids at recreational areas including Latifa's Adventures.



Organizers say the total number of visitors who bought tickets for the first 10 days of the world's largest show was 4,11,768. This is in addition to the number of Expo venue activists, exhibitors and delegates. One third of the visitors are foreign tourists. The spectacular views of the Expo start from the spacious parking facilities at the Expo Venue. From the gate we can see the technology of artificial intelligence. Designed by award- winning Foster and partners. The 330 meter long track in the open air and the underground part of the pavilion is truly stunning. The journey through the galaxies is as indescribable as the magical world, and everything is amazing.

Attractions of Dubai Expo 2020 

Another surprise is the water feature in the sustainability pavilion. During the day, layers of water can be seen seeping down through the 13 meter high  walls. At night visitors can see another sight that challenges gravity and the visual awe of the water flowing behind the walls.





The next attraction is the coloured Emirates Aircraft of Expo 2020. The Aircraft is provided with attractive graphics in Red, Vivid Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Yellow, and Blue to write the special message that say Dubai Expo and Be Part of The Magic against a colourful backdrop.




These views can seen on Emirates 3A- 380 Aircrafts. The concept design and other work was completed by the Emirates team. It was one of the largest aircraft to make such a presentation. It is painted in 11 colours, it took 16 days to complete.

The Expo 2020 will be held in Dubai.  The site located between the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, near Dubai's southern border with Abu Dhabi. Which is close to Al Maktoum International Airport. The master plan, designed by the American firm HOK. The infrastructureof the Expo 2020 site was built by Orascom and BESIX.
The Dubai Expo 2020 covers an area over 4.39 square kilometres and has four main gates. The site has an emergency center that includes an isolation room, emergency care room, ambulance and helicopter services. The site also features ROVE Expo 2020, the only hotel located on the site. The hotel has 312 rooms, 19 suites, a roof top pool and views of Al Wasl Plaza.


The metro station is located next to the Al wasal gate of the Dubai Expo 2020. We will not be able to go directly to the venue of the expo. Instead, dedicated shuttle bus service available also known as expo riders, take people from every bus stops to and from the expo main entrance and back. Shuttle buses and taxis from RTA also travel to the Expo site. Expo Rider buses park in front of 3 giant gates at the arrival plazas of the 3 thematic districts, and a special branch of the Expo Rider buses takes people from the arrival plazas to the parking areas. Expo riders buses are free. Getting there by road is another way. People should drive on the roads leading to the site and follow the signs to the designated parking areas. The opportunity district connected to the road, You can enter the opportunity district by walking from the parking area. 


In addition to housemaids, RTA  Bus- Taxi  drivers and construction workers were given free entry to the Expo. Hotel , Restaurant and cafeteria workers can also see the Expo for free this month. Tickets can be obtained by presenting the required documents in person at the Expo office. RTA Bus- Taxi drivers will be given one day entry in the fair for six months on presentation of identity card and residence visa. A lot of sights are waiting for us at the Dubai Expo Venue.

Walking is the best way to explore Expo 2020. Alternatively, Expo Explorer trains are available with stops in thematic districts to explore Expo 2020. Expo Buggies is available as a rental vehicle. The People's Mover is an electric or air-compressed train with repeated stops in thematic districts.

Timing: Entry is from 08:30 to 23:00 Sunday to Thursday, and 08:30 to 01:00 Friday to Saturday and special days. 

How to Reach Dubai Expo 

Taxis can be booked by phone, but the simplest way is to download the Careem, Uber or S’hail app. You can also book ‘Hala Taxi which is Dubai’s most affordable taxi. The Dubai Metro Red Line takes you from the city of Dubai to the entrance of Expo 2020. First arrivals to the Expo Station are at 06:15 Monday to Saturday and 09:15 on Sunday. Last departures from the Expo Station are at 00:00 Sunday to Thursday and 01:00 Friday to Saturday. If you’re driving to the Expo 2020 site, you can get here from all major roads. Follow the signs for one of the four designated parking zones.
