National Aquarium Abudhabi, UAE

Abu Dhabi's newest attraction open to the public from Friday, November 12. Visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with the rare deep sea creatures and their habitats and to learn more about them. The 9000 square meter aquarium is located in Al Qana. It is a new waterfront destination, and is the largest Aquarium in the middle East.

Specialties of National Aquarium.

There are 46,000 species in ten zones, including more than 200 sharks and reptiles of 25 different species. This includes endangered sharks such as the Sand Tiger, Hammerhead Tiger and Shark.
Here are 10 zones, each zone has specifically themed. The 10 zones in totals are UAE natural treasures, Red sea wreck, Atlantic cave, In the rocky Atlantic cave, you can explore and find many creatures that are commonly found in small crevices and corners, especially inside the caves in the Atlantic Ocean.  From lobsters to sea sponges and other sea creatures you can find here. Frozen ocean, Flooded forest, Ocean magic, Ring of fire, Bu Tinah Island and Back of house and setting for telling a narrative. 


UAE natural treasures

National Treasures Zone in the aquarium where you can learn a lot about Arabian pearl fishing. From the natural formation of oysters and pearls, to the diversity of animals that inhabit the shores of the eastern Arabian Peninsula and contribute to the rich diversity of the earth.

Red sea wreck

In the Red Sea wreck, you can see and study some of the rarest and most incredible treasures in the ocean. This is where you can enjoy underwater exploration through a shipwreck. You can also witness the hundreds of fish and corals commonly found in the Arabian Red Sea.

Atlantic cave 

In the rocky Atlantic cave, you can explore and find many creatures that are commonly found in small crevices and corners, especially inside the caves in the Atlantic Ocean. From lobsters to sea sponges and other sea creatures you can find here. 

The Sub 

It takes sub-visitors on a submarine experience to see how a submarine works. In addition to seeing the marine life in its natural habitat, you will also have the opportunity to find a sea mollusk nautilus among other marine animals in the area.


Ring of Fire 

The Ring of Fire is located on the outskirts of the Pacific Ocean and is the longest volcanic network in the world. In the National Aquarium, the area is home to some of the fascinating marine life found in the changing habitats of these volcanoes.


Ocean Magic Zone

In the Ocean Magic Zone, you can learn about the dangerous and complex habitats of the oceans and discover the different marine life that thrive in such environments.

Frozen ocean

Experience the Arctic world at the northern tip of the earth in frozen ocean. Usually a giant iceberg, the area is home to a wide variety of animals, including marine life, Arctic seabirds, fish, and more. 

Flooded forest 

The flooded forest, or the aquarium's vibrant rainforest, is one of the best zones here, with beautiful canopies, tropical birds and fresh air for you to breathe.From enjoying the cool and beautiful atmosphere here, to seeing the variety of animals and birds from the rainforests of the world, this zone is definitely one of the most interesting in the aquarium. 


Bu Tina Island 

Bu Tina Island is one of the 200 islands in Abu Dhabi. One of the region's best secrets, this area inside the National Aquarium is designed to give visitors a glimpse of stunning island of Bu Tina, complete with shallow water, seagrass and tall mangrove trees. Energetic coral reefs.


In the Flooded forest zone, visitors can see a Python called Super Snake. It also has the longest living snake in the world today. This is a female reticulated python aged 14 that weighs 115 kg. This long snake is found in Southeast Asia. A special forest was created inside the aquarium for this python. In addition there are about 2000 sea turtles here.





There are more than 8000 rainforests creatures in the area. Many types of birds here, including free roaming birds that fly around and do not go near guests.
Here we can see not only the animals behind the glass but also the flying birds. the aquarium offers a number of interactive experiences, including Scuba diving, Animal feeding and Glass - bottom dhow tours that explains more about animals and their natural habitats.

The aquarium was set up by restoring the same habitat under the sea. All species are cared for by a team of 80 marine experts. The organizers also plan to organize a study tour for the students here.  This is a project designed to share knowledge about the sea and to arouse interest in nature among the younger generation.

Abu Dhabi National Aquarium has signed a five-year partnership with the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) to conserve and rehabilitate wildlife in the emirate. The rehabilitation center, one of the largest shelters in the Middle East, has already rescued many animals. 

In addition, there will be interactive water shows, scuba lessons, exhibitions and study sessions on stage. Visitors can also find nautical inspired restaurants, cafes and shops at the Al Khana National Aquarium in Abu Dhabi.

Suggestions for National Aquarium visitors. 
  • Kids under the age of 12 are not allowed in the aquarium alone. They must be accompanied by an adult over 16 years of age. Kids should be under the control and supervision of an adult throughout the journey.
  • Visitors to the National Aquarium must have a valid ticket from the National Aquarium, official website, or authorized third party. All tickets are non - refundable and non-transferable.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in and around the aquarium.
  • Pets are strictly prohibited inside the aquarium.
  • Only wheelchairs and mobility scooters are allowed inside the aquarium.
  • Follow the instructions on the health care boards set up on the premises.
  • Unwanted noise and annoying behavior to other guests is not allowed in the aquarium.
  • Visitors should dress appropriately. People who dress rudely are not allowed in the aquarium.
