1.Cubbon Park

Cubbon Park in the city of Bangalore is a major attraction for its lush greenery. Cubbon Park, officially known as Sri Chamarajendra Park. It was first created in 1870 by Major General Richard Sankey when he was the then British Chief Engineer of the State of Mysore. It covers an area of 100 acres and subsequent expansion has taken place and the area reported now is about 300 acres. It has a rich history of flora and fauna and its surroundings are home to many fascinating and aesthetically pleasing buildings and statues of famous personalities. Indigenous and exotic botanical species found in the park are about 68 genera and 96 species with a total of around 6000 plants/trees. Amongst the ornamental and flowering exotic trees lining the roads in the park are the Grevillea robusta the first oaks introduced to Bangalore from Australia and the delonix or the gulmohar tree along the Cubbon road in the park.

Cubbon Park


 In 1927, the park was officially renamed as "Sri. Chamarajendra Park" to mark the Silver Jubilee of Sri. Krishnaraja Wodeyar's rule in Mysore State. At present, the Cubbon Park is under the control of the Department of Horticulture. Some of the major structures of the city such as the Attara Kacheri, Cubbon Park Museum and Sheshadri Iyer Memorial Park are also situated here. Another famous attraction in the Cubbon Park is The Bangalore Aquarium, which is the second largest aquarium in India.It is a gentle combination of natural and man-made views, and Cubbon Park has exquisite flower beds of various colors, located near important administrative buildings like:

How To Reach Cubbon Park 

The Cubbon Park is situated in the heart of the city and is accessible from M.G. Road, Kasturba Road, Hudson Circle, and Ambedkar Veedhi. You can easily reach the park by hiring a cab or riding on the KSRTC bus that plies from every point in the city. If you intend to travel via the Bangalore Metro, you can get down at the Cubbon Park Metro Station, from where the park itself is about 100 metres away. 

2.ISKCON Temple, Bangalore

ISKCON temple located in the Rajajinagar area. The temple is a place of worship for Lord Krishna. The temple, under the guidance of Madhu Pandit Dasa, was inaugurated in the year 1997 by Shankar Dayal Sharma. ISKCON Temple is a cultural complex dedicated to the deities of Sri Sri Radhakrishna Chandra, Sri Sri Krishna Balaraman, Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga, Sri Srinivasa Govinda and Sri Prahlada Narasimha. The temple is famous for its 17 m high gold plated flagpole and 8.5 m high gold plated peaks. 

ISKCON Temple Banglore


The temple complex has an expansive verdant garden and an amphitheatre for conducting various cultural programmes as well. The temple also focuses on protecting and providing better living conditions to cows, which are Lord Krishna favourite. Food and prasadam services are available inside the temple complex. Nithya Ananda at ISKCON offers a sumptuous lunch from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm. Another prasadam distribution program under the temple premises is the preparation of delicious food using Krishnamrita and use Sattvic techniques. Akshaya Patra (mid day meals) are also provided for underprivileged children in partnership with various government and government-aided schools.

How To Reach ISKCON Temple, Bangalore 

The ISKCON Temple is located on the Hare Krishna Hills, in the North Bangalore.  Bangalore has an extensive bus network operated by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation. You can easily find buses to reach the Hare Krishna Hills. 
The nearest metro station to the temple is Mahalakshmi Station. The temple is merely 5-minute walk from there. Alternatively, you can also hire a taxi from any part of the city to reach the temple.

3.Bangalore Palace

Bangalore Palace is a royal palace located in Malleshwaram, Bangalore. Construction of a palace building was started in April 1874 and completed by 1878. Mr. Cameron of Lalbagh did the landscaping. A mixture of Tudor and Scottish Gothic architecture have resulted into the grand palace that we see today. The wooden structure of the palace along with the beautiful carvings both inside and outside showcases the royal culture in different ways. The palace is unusually spacious and spreads over 45,000 square feet. the palace is a host to different cultural events, rock shows, and marriages. 

King Chamarajendra Wadiyar drew his inspiration for building the palace from the Windsor Castle of London. On the ground floor, the Bangalore Palace has 35 rooms, in the palace and an open courtyard is made up of granite seats decorated with fluorescent blue ceramic tiles, a fairy tail ballroom, paintings by the famous painter Raja Ravi Varma, walls covered with vines and the first floor durbar hall. An audio tape in Hindi and English is available inside the palace to help people with language problems better understand its history. The vast grounds surrounding the palace once hosted a number of cultural events. 

Banglore Palace


Many international personalities, including Backstreet Boys, Don Moin, David Getta, Elton John, Lamb of God, Akon, The Black Eyed Peas, Deep Purple, The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Roger Waters, and Enrique Iglesias, have their own horizons. these grounds are no longer in commercial use. Close friends to the Royal Family or the companies with them are the only ones to host any kind of event over here. The Fun World Amusement park finds itself in the palace ground complex. The ownership of the Bangalore Palace has gone through many legal activities. Currently, it is owned by Srikanta Dutta Narasimha Raja Wadiyar, the successor of the Mysore royal family. The palace opened its doors to the public in 2005.

How To Reach Innovative Film City 

The Film City is just 40 kilometres away from Bangalore and can easily be reached via cabs or personal vehicle. You can also reach here from the Majestic BMTC Bus Stop. If taking your car, use the NICE Bangalore Mysore Highway from Mysore Road. Mysore is only 40 km from the outskirts of the city. The nearest railway station is Bidadi Railway Station. The nearest airport to Innovative Film City is Kempegowda International Airport. It is about 77 km away from the park.  


5.Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace

Tipu Sultan palace is located in the Bangalore Fort which is situated in old Bangalore in the south-west Indian state of Karnataka. Located at the junction of Albert Victor Road and Krishna Rajendra. It is the majestic residence of Tipu Sultan, the brave ruler of Mysore. the palace boasts of ornamental frescoes, magnificent arches, protruding balconies and brilliant motifs. The construction of the fort started during the reign of Hyder Ali and was completed in 1791, during the rule of Tipu Sultan.The two-storeyed palace has been built solely of wood, teak, stone, mortar and plaster, and is supported by huge wooden pillars with bases of stones. The rectangular building has accentuated arches and brackets. the interior decoration of the walls have been beautifully done with intricate paintings and floral motifs, the outward walls have portrayals of wars, historical events and glorious kings. The 'Zenana' quarters, meaning the dwelling of royal women, are constructed in the corners of the first floor itself. After the death of Tipu Sultan, the British used the fort for its Secretariat until about 1868, before moving to Attara Kacheri.

Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace


Blessed with lush green gardens, flowering shrubs and sparkling fountains, this palace is an attractive tourist destination and a part of solitude in the heart of the city. a small part of the fort has also been converted into a museum showcasing various events of the life and times of Tipu Sultan. Tipu Sultan's Throne is considered as a magnificent work of art. The throne is made of a life-size tiger made of wood and covered with gold sheets and precious stones. The Royal Seat had a length of 8 feet, was 11 feet tall and 5 feet wide. Smaller heads of tiger encircled the throne. The throne also had a beautiful ornamental canopy above the seat with an Huma bird, also known as the bird of Paradise, perched on it. The throne had steps of silver and decorated with some smaller heads of tigers. All of these parts were covered in sheets of gold and decorated with stunning precious stones. Best Time to Visit this place November to February.

How To Reach Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace 

Bangalore is well- connected by metro lines. The nearest metro station to Tipu Sultan palace is Majestic, falling on both purple and green lines. After getting down at the metro station, you can take a local rickshaw. The palace is hardly 3 kms away from the station. Alternatively, hiring a private taxi cab is the easiest option but is slightly expensive. You can also choose to travel in the state-run city buses which cover all of the city.


6.Bannerghatta National Park 

Bannerghatta National Park is a located 22 km away from Bangalore, Karnataka. It was founded in 1970 and declared as a national park in 1974. It spread over an area of around 104.27 sq. km. Bannerghatta National Park is a sanctuary for a large variety of flora and fauna. The park itself has a number of institutions within its boundaries, including the country's first butterfly park. On the 25th of November, 2006, India's first butterfly enclosure was inaugurated here by Union Minister Kapil Sibal. The park covers an area of 7.5 acres and has a museum, conservatory and an audiovisual room. The conservatory can house about twenty species of butterflies and has its own artificial ecosystem that provides the perfect conditions for them to thrive and flourish. 

Bannerghatta National Park


Other attractions here are ten Reserve Forests of Anekal Range of the Bangalore Forest Division, an aquarium, a zoo, Children's park, Crocodile Farm, Snake Park and Prehistoric Animals' Park. you can get up close and personal with the wondrous wildlife here by the means of a jungle safari, which is a popular activity to pursue here. The various establishments here such as the zoo and the aquarium provide a number of experiences with the endearing wildlife here.The zoo has a number of exhibits that display the wildlife in the park. A reptile park and small theatre are included here as well. Elephant park has a dedicated elephant sanctuary, which is a fenced enclosure where elephants roam about freely without any restrictions. Designed by elephant expert Carol Buckley, it is spread over an area of 122 acres. You can interact with these gentle giants safely without harming them. 

The surrounding gentle hills make it a wonderful place to go for a short trekking adventure. For the all trekkers. the main attraction is the various trekking routes that are present around this national park. Some of them are Uddigebande, 3.5 km away, Hajjamana Kallu, a natural rock formation, 3 km away and Mirza Hill, 1.5 km away. Nature lovers and photographers are surely in for a treat in the Bannerghatta National Park. The varied species of wildlife here includes elephants, leopards, jackal, fox, wild boar, sloth bear, India gazelle, spotted deer, porcupine, Asiatic Lion, Royal Bengal Tiger, monitor lizard and cobras. Find out more about sandalwood, neem, tamarind, bamboo, eucalyptus and the many trees found here, and find your botanist again.  The best time to visit this park is during the months of November to June when the weather is cool and perfect and wildlife is easily spotted. 

one of the most popular activities in this destination is the Jungle Safari, where you get to observe the animals in their natural habitat. The Safari takes you on a beautiful trip where you can spot herbivores as well as big cats. The Grand Safari is 8 kilometres long one way, while Tiger and Lion Safari is around 11 km. You can also choose from the options available such as the Zoo & Lion- Tiger safari, Zoo & Grand Safari or Zoo only.  A must visit place with family and friends. One can find various species of animals here. The cost of the grand safari with the zoo entrance fee is also quite reasonable. Do follow the safety rules.

How to Reach Bannerghatta National Park 

The Park is located 22km outside Bangalore City and can be easily reached using public transport. Take the city bus with the route numbers 365, 366 or G-4 (depending on route) which are available every 20 minutes. For reaching the park, the nearest major landmark is Jayadeva Hospital/Mico checkpoint as it is the nearest stop on the Ring road. The nearest railway station to Bannerghatta biological park is Bangalore Cy Jn Train Station which is 23 km away from Bannerghatta Biological Park.The Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru is located approximately 55.8 kilometres. 


7.Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium in Bangalore is one of the five Nehru planetariums in India. It was established in 1989 by the Bangalore City Corporation and ever since it has contributed significantly towards public entertainment and popularizing knowledge of science. In 1992, it has been administered by BASE (Bangalore Association for Science Education). BASE is an Autonomous Body which is registered under Karnataka Societies' Registration Act. Shows and Programmes at Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium. The Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium shortly referred to as JNP is a hotspot tourist attraction

The Sky Theatre is its main attraction, This theatre, seating around 210 in recliners, holds shows projected on the domed roof and has a unidirectional view all around. The shows are mainly short films and documentaries which impart detailed knowledge about historical and scientific facts, voyage stories, anecdotes, mostly about the constellations and galaxies. The shows keep changing from time to time.

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium

 

The mirror dome projection hall was renovated and refurbished with a seating capacity of 40 and air condition to use it for academic as well as show purposes. Right now, the two shows running here are 'Natural Selection' telling the entire history and analysis behind Darwinian Theory and 'Dawn of the Space Age' which is about the story of mankind's journey from the very initial attempts at space study till today's successful satellite and spacecraft launches.This is not open for the public on a daily basis and can only be availed with prior request. 

The Exhibition Hall is a gallery full of knowledge about space, stars and everything else about astronomy - meteors, asteroids, eclipses and so on. Science Park is a campus located on the grounds of the Planetarium, which has more than 40 science exhibits that explain interactive and intricate and complex concepts of physics and astronomy in simple and game like ways. 

Know Your Stars: This is a special programme conducted only on the first Sunday evening of every month. This is part of a lecture at the Sky Theater on the constellations that visitors can then look at the stars through telescopes and binoculars and identify them with the help of a star chart provided.

How To Reach Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium 

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium is located in the heart of the city, only 2 km from the railway station and 1.5 km from the Dr. BR Ambedkar metro station. It can also be reached by the public buses, cabs or hired cars. Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium is 34.1 km away from Bangalore International Airport.  the planetarium is closed on all national holidays. 


8.Lumbini Garden

Lumbini Gardens is a public park on the banks of the Nagawara Lake in Bangalore. Lumbini Garden is one of the main attractions in Bangalore. The park is also a picnic spot for families.The garden also houses some beautiful statues and a host of rare plants. At the night, garden is illuminated with various lights which is a pleasure to see. This garden is dedicated to Lord Budhha. The Lumbini Garden is mainly an amusement park with dry as well as water rides.

The main attractions of the garden include a wave pool, various rides, boating in the lake water activities etc. There is a 25-foot high statue of Buddha and a clock tower resembling the Big Ben in London inside the park. Lumbini Gardens can be rented to host parties, events and picnics. There is also a party hall facing the lake for such events. The garden also hosts occasional carnivals. the garden has beautiful fountains and a stretch of 1.5 km to walk through with a view of the lake and gorgeous greenery on the other side.

 It can be accessed through cabs, buses or autorickshaws from any part of the city. The nearest railway station to Lumbini Gardens is Yesvantpur Railway Station which is 6 km away from Lumbini Gardens. Then by hired vehicle, the garden can be reached easily. The nearest airport to Lumbini Gardens is Bengaluru International Airport which is 25 km away from Lumbini Gardens. 

9.Lalbagh Botanical Gardens 

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is a botanical garden situated near the Lalbagh Fort Road in Bangalore. It is one of the largest botanical gardens in India, This garden is the first of its kind, with planned routes, glasshouses, and ornamental flowers growing throughout the property. The garden attained the status of a Government Botanical Garden in 1856. It is one of the peaceful places to visit as part of Bangalore. It spread over an area of 240 acres, there are more than 1,800 species of flora, including plants, shrubs, and trees, most of them from outside India. this garden is aesthetically designed with lawns, flowerbeds, lotus pools, and fountains. Another attraction of the place is the Lalbagh Rock, which is one of the oldest rock formations on earth, dating back to 3000 million years. 

Lalbagh Botanical Garden


The main attraction of the Garden is the Glass House. This has been modeled based on Crystal Palace in London. It was built in 1889 to commemorate the visit of the Prince of Wales during the reign of John Cameron. Glass House hosts a flower show which is held every year on Independence Day and Republic Day. The Bandstand, Lecture Hall, Lalbagh House, Pigeon House, Statue of Chamaraja Wodeyar, Lalbagh West Gate Guard Room, Museum and the Main gate of Lalbagh, Deer Paddock, Lalbagh Lake, and Aquarium building are other artistic structures that can be seen in Lalbagh. Another popular attraction is the giant floral clock. Lalbagh is currently maintained by the Directorate of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka. Its construction was commissioned by the famous ruler Hyder Ali. It was finally completed by his son- Tipu Sultan- who designed the gardens keeping in mind the beautiful gardens of Sira in Tumkur District in Karnataka.

How to Reach Lal Bagh 

Located in the southern part of the city, Lal bagh Gardens can be easily reached by the local means of transport such as buses and auto rickshaws. You can hire cabs to this place as well. Lalbagh Botanical Garden is located at a distance of 38.8 km from Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore. 

10.Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum 

Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum located on the Kasthurba Road in Bangalore. It was established in memory of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The building, with a built up area of 43,000 sq ft, was constructed in Cubbon Park. It houses various scientific experiments and engines, and was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, on 14 July 1962. The first gallery set up at VITM, on the theme of 'Electricity', was opened to the public on 27 July 1965.

Activities at Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, At the newly built 3D Visual Display Theater you will find an amazing experience featuring informative and interesting documentaries on deep sea diving, different tides, solar-lunar eclipses, deep sea life and brain cells. How To Reach Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum 

The museum is located in the heart of the city on Kasthurba Road, next to Supreme Court and High Court. You can choose to take the metro and get down at the nearest Cubbon Park metro station on the purple line. The museum is just 1 km away from the station you can either walk down or take a local rickshaw. The museum can also easily be reached through booking a private taxi- cab. Alternatively, you can choose to travel in one of the public buses. The buses running on the route are 150, 154, 155, 291, 293 & 294C.

11. Vidhana Soudha 

 The Karnataka government has constructed a replica named Vikasa Soudha to the south of the building. It is the seat of the state legislature of Karnataka. It is the Assembly building of the state of Karnataka in Belgaum district in the state of North Karnataka. It is constructed in a style described as Neo - Dravidian and incorporates elements of various Dravidian styles. The foundation stone of Vidhana Soudha was laid down by the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, in 1951. It was inaugurated on 11 October 2012 by President Pranab Mukherjee. 

Vidhana Soudha


Vidhana Soudha is the largest legislative building in India. Spread over 60 acres, this stunning white building has numerous carved pillars, pedestals, foundations, arches, and cornices. The four-storey building has a porch with 12 large granite blocks on the east side.The central dome of the building is supported by eight pillars, with a crown of the four headed lion, the national emblem of the country. Vidhana Soudha also has almost 300 rooms, which accommodate around twenty-two different departments of the State Government. 

The entire structure of the Vidhan Soudha is lit up with a million colourful lights on Sunday evenings and on special occasions. This spectacular sight can only be witnessed during evening time.The structure, also known as the "Taj Mahal of South India", has four separate entrances and four floors with four sides, with an additional floor below ground level.The winter months, from October to February, are also some of the best months to visit the Vidhana Soudha. 

Location: The Vidhana Soudha is located at Ambedkar Veedhi, near Sampangi Rama Nagara, in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It has the Karnataka High Court located opposite to it. 

Timings: You can visit Vidhana Soudha from 09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. during Monday To Friday. 

How To Reach Vidhana Soudha 

The Bangalore Railway Station is only 5 km away from Vidhana Soudha, which is barely a 25 to 30-minute commute. The nearest bus stop is Kempegowda Bus Station, or popularly known as Majestic Bus Station and is only 2.1 kms away from this bus stop. The Vidhan Soudha has its own Metro Station (Vidhan Soudha Metro Station) that drops passengers off right in front of the building entrance. Vidhana Soudha is located around 34.8 kilometres from the Bangalore Airport. 


12. Ulsoor Lake

Ulsoor Lake is a man-made lake located in Ulsoor. It is one of the biggest lakes in Bangalore, is located on the eastern side of the city. the Ulsoor Lake is sprawled over an area of 50 hectares. Ulsoor lake was built by Sir Lewin Bentham Bowring, who was Bangalore's commissioner at that time. One of the most popular activities in Ulsoor Lake is boating. There are many small islands spread across the lake and they can be reached by boat. The Boat Club maintained by KSTDC offers wonderful boating facilities. Ulsoor Lake is also an important venue for the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi. The lake has a recreational complex that has a swimming pool. There is also a garden at one end of the lake known as Kensington Park.

Being centrally located, Ulsoor Lake can be reached by a host of public transport options. You can take an auto-rickshaw to the lake from MG Road, or take the metro to reach this destination from the Ulsoor or Trinity Metro Stations. Buses ply to Ulsoor Lake from Ulsoor, M. G. Road, CMH Road, Ulsoor Road and Ulsoor Lake stop as well. Other than these, you can always take a cab to reach your destination.


13. Government Museum

The Karnataka Government Museum is located at the Kasturba Gandhi Road, quite near to the Cubbon Park. It is also known as State Archeological Museum. With great collection of artifacts, it's one of the ideal places to visit in Bangalore for history and art lovers. Its main building was designed by the Colonel Sankey. It was in the year of 1876 when its construction was completed Established in 1886. It is one of the oldest museums in India.

There are 18 galleries showcasing a rich collection of coins, art and relics from the Mohenjodaro, Halebid and Vijayanagara. It also houses the relics dating back to 5000 years. The painting gallery includes beautiful and rare paintings in Mysore and Tanjore style and also paintings from Rajasthani and Pahari schools. Among the other artifacts on display are ivory carvings, carvings, and sandalwood-wood boxes. The best time to visit the Government museum is between September to February.

14.Kemp Fort Shiva Temple 

The Shiva Temple, also known as Kemp Fort Shiva Temple. Construction of the 65 feet tall Lord Shiva idol and the temple started in 1994. The temple was inaugurated in 1995 by Sri Shankaracharya of Sringeri on the auspicious day of Maha Shivaratri. It is one of the popular among Bangalore tourist places. The temple attracts large crowds due to its grandeur aesthetic values ​​and majesty. This is a 65 feet tall image of Lord Shiva seated in a lotus position. There is a backdrop of Mount Kailash, the heavenly abode of the Lord, and the river Ganga flowing from his hair. 

Kemp Fort Shiva Temple

Behind the idol is a sacred cave, which is similar to the cave journey traditionally known as the Amarnath Yatra. Inside the cave are 12 beautifully decorated copies of the Jyotirlinga. The cave is open to the public from 9 AM to 9 PM. Another attraction here is God Ganapati's Statue which is 35 feet tall. The white statue of Ganapati is seated close to the entrance, blessing the devotees with his right hand and a modak in his left hand. Navagraha Temple, Prathiksh Ling, a copy of Manasarovar Lake, Upchaar Pathar, is a healing stone known to have magically healed many patients. On the day of Maha Shivaratri, a big celebration is held at the temple for the devotees to immerse themselves in prayers and worship.

15.Freedom Park

Freedom Park is a public park situated in the heart of Bangalore city. Freedom Park was opened to the public in the year 2008 in the Gandhi Nagar area of Bangalore. It was formerly the Central Jail. Spread over an area of about 21 acres, Freedom Park was inspired by Hyde Park and the Kensington Park of London. This park has been designed to serve as a platform for various public meetings, protests, rallies. When the state of emergency was declared in India in 1975, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L.K. It was at this venue that Advani was arrested and imprisoned. the park has a library, a joggers' stretch, a children's play area and a part of it has been dedicated for holding protests. It also has brilliant sculptures of olden days prisoners. 

Freedom Park

The park has two entrances, one on Seshadri Road and the other on Ramachandra Rao Road, which facilitates access from different parts of the city. Freedom Park is one of the best places to wander in the banglore city. Best Time to Visit this place early morning or evening.
