Mukundara Hills National Park is a national park in Rajasthan, India. It was established in 2004 and consists of three wildlife sanctuaries Darrah Wildlife Sanctuary, National Chambal Sanctuary, and Jawahar Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary. It is located in the Khathiar-Gir dry deciduous forests. Mukundra Hills extend in about 760 sq kilometers of four locality Kota, Jhalawar, Bundi, and Chittorgarh. Nearby 417 sq km of core and 342 sq kilometers buffer zone.

Tiger Reserve was made for the public on April 9, 2013. “Mukundra Hills is the third Tiger Reserve of Rajasthan”. Increase the size of Mukundra Hills National Park Rajasthan. On April 11, 2013, the notice was issued by the Rajasthan Government to establish a new Tiger Reserve area (Ranthambore national park and a third of the state after Sariska national park), known as Mukundra Hills in the state. Start- November 1955 The name of the sanctuary district names on the hill of Mukundra, named on the reputed nature lover of Kota, Hada ruler Mukund Singh. Darrah Wildlife Sanctuary, called after the 2003 RAJIV GANDHI National Park, changed from the Darrah Sanctuary. 

It is expanded over 4 areas of Rajasthan – Kota, Jhalawar, Bundi, Chittorgarh. And established on National Highway 12. This new tiger sanctuary, extend over a district of around 759 sq km, has two parts, 417 square kilometers. The main tiger natural environment (core tiger home) district and 342 sq km of buffer zone have been notified.

Mukundra hills are famous for their charm and horns.Sambar, chital, nilgai, hare, wild boar, jackal, rabbit etc. are established in Mukundara hills. The sanctuary is famous for Dakhda (Anojis Pandula) forests. It is part of Mukundra Hills National Park, Reserve Retreat, Jawahar Sagar and Chambal Burke Wildlife Retreat. 


For tiger habitat and population, the country has a natural forest in which Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve is an important place for wild animals and tigers. Dense forests, waterfalls, mountains, puddles, ponds and marshes are home to hundreds of wildlife. Mukundra Hills is a safe and perfect place for tigers and other animals. This unique tiger sanctuary attracts the attention of tourists with its wildlife, flora and fauna.

There are four rivers that flow in this region, the rivers are Chambal river, Kali river, Ahu river, Ramzan river. The Mukundra Tiger Reserve is covered with dense forests. There are various kinds of medicinal plants in the park which consist of healing properties. It has grasslands in between and also many dry deciduous trees. 


 It is also rich in wildlife, with some of the most commonly spotted animals being Tiger (very few in number), Leopards, Wild Boars, Hyena, Sloth Bears, Deer, Wolves, Chinkara & Antelopes. For bird lovers too, visiting the park is an absolute treat, as it is home to numerous species of birds. Bengal tiger, the Indian wolf and the Indian leopard are the major carnivores in this reserve. Prey species include the chital, sambar deer, wild boar and the nilgai. Sloth bear and chinkara also inhabit the area. Reptiles include the Mugger crocodile and the gharial.
