 Meesapulimala.

Meesapulimala is a hill, located in Munnar in the Idukki district of Kerala. It was a place no one had ever visited before. But now a lot of people comes here. There will be at least one description or picture of meesapulimala on social media every day. Meesapulimala is a place where nature is feasted on the top of a green hill. It is a dream destination for adventure seekers. Meesapulimala is the second highest peak in the western ghats of Kerala after Anamudi. The name meesapulimala is derived  from the fact that it's shaped like a Mustache. Many peoples come to meesapulimala for trekking. Meesapulimala can be reached through Kulukumalai, Ellapetti, Aruvikad and silent valley ( in Idukki). From Munnar, Travel 24 km via  Mattupetty via Aruvikad estate to reach the base camp of Meesapulimala. The journey to base camp is difficult and very exciting. On the way you can see the Pandavas Cave. The villagers believes that the Pandavas the heroes of the Mahabharata, lived in these caves during their 12 years of exile. This cave is a Haven for innumerable and small birds. Trekking facilities are available from Kulukumala to Meesappulimala. From here you can see Anamudi, Chokramudi, and Palani hills. To reach Meesappulimala, one has to walk about 4.5 km from kulukumalai. On the way up to Meesappulimala you can see Munnar top station, Eravikulam national park and Anayirangal dam.

If you want to experiences snow  go to meesapulimala itself. The hilly mountains, the jungles. The waterfalls, the fragments of snow that flow across the face make, it's a good experience. This is a 2000 hectares protected forest area owned by  K F D C. The main attraction of meesapulimala is the meadows spread over an area of about 500 hectares. Meesapulimala which is of great ecological  importance area, it is a store house of rare flora and fauna. Some of the  Grasslands of  meesapulimala are found only in the Alps mountain ranges. With the increase in the number of tourists. Meesapulimala has prepared the ground for environmental destruction. Therefore the district administration has banned. Tourists from visiting meesapulimala under strict restrictions. Special permission is required to enter the meesapulimala. But often those who try to reach the mountain by short cuts are in danger.

Travel 24 km by jeep from KFDC office in Munnar to base camp at Rhodo valley. There are tents and cottages set up by KFDC. The tent can accommodate up to two people, each with its own package. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and food and let the fire go out all night long. The journey to meesapulimala starts from the Munnar base camp at an altitude of 6000Ft above sea level. You can get up early in the morning and go up the hill with the necessary food and water in hand. There is a lot of distance to climb so it is better not to carry any luggage. Meesapulimala can be entered only with the permission of the Forest Department




Let's stay in the clouds.

Rhodo Mansion is a perfect place for those who want to stay in the clouds. The Rhodo Mansion can be reached by a jeep 5 km from the Road Valley. The building has the reputation of being the tallest residential building in Kerala. Lots of rhododendron trees can be seen here. special security arrangements have been put in place for elephant poaching. Delicious food served hot right away, clear water springs, icy cold nights, and a camp fire as a hot cayenne will all be an unforgettable experience. To reach Meesappulimala, one has to climb two hills. The trekking distance is about 4 - 5 kilometer. It can only be reached with great difficulty. But once you reach the top of Meesapulimala, all the suffering will disappear like ice. It is true that many people say that reaching Meesapulimala is like reaching heaven. Clouds form the ocean around us. Indescribable in words, these sights are something to be experienced. From here you can also see the aerial view of Anamudi, Kolukkumala, Anayirankal Dam, Ochal Mudi, Pandavan Hills, Korangini, Munnar town, top station and kundala dam. On the way to Meesapulimala, one can see many baby streams and Nilgiri tahr herds. It is also home to wide variety of flora and fauna. The trekking path from Kolukkumalai to Meesapulimala is highly restricted. Wildlife including the Nilgiri tahr, sambar deer, wild gaur, wild dogs and even the sloth bear

On the way to meesapulimala you can stay here. Only Two people can be admitted here at a time. Tiger Rocks.

Tiger rocks is another major attraction of meesapulimalai. Many tourists visit this place especially adventure travellers. Many people also come here for trekking.



 You have to eat a light meal in the morning to climb the mountain. Avoid steep climbs and climb curves. It is better to avoid unnecessary items. Carry drinking water for one person and snacks like dried fruits and light snacks. Climbing the hills in three steps is easy again. The trek is quite difficult, so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Prioritize safety. Don't pollute area with plastics. 


It is best to plan your trek to Meesapulimalai during the winter months, from October to February. This is because, after the monsoon, the entire area is revived after the rains. The meadows look green, the forests look beautiful, and the flowers look more vibrant. During these months, your entire journey will be filled with the sounds of singing birds, rushing waters, and cold winds.
