Overnight camping at the Expo 2020 lake in Dubai

Enjoy the greenery and views of the free-to-visit Expo 2020 Lake in the middle of the desert in Dubai. Located near Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport, this area has a large lake and many trees. Built by the Dubai Municipality, the lake attracts many people, entry is free, and celebrates the fact that Dubai is hosting the first World Expo in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region.

The best time to visit Expo Lake is in the winter months, from October to March, because at that time, the weather gets pleasant and a bit cold, making it easy for people to spend a few hours or maybe an entire night at this stunning place. You can spend a whole day on a picnic with your friends and family and return after watching a beautiful sunset. If you want to camp overnight around Expo Lake's vegetation, you can. You can also bbq and spend a whole night in the tent.

A Few Tips for Visiting Expo Lake 

• Carry plenty of food and water as there are no stores or restaurants nearby except for the shops at the last exit of Al Qudra Road.
• You should wear comfortable and breezy clothes. Flat footwear or shoes should be worn as it is located in the desert. 
• Do not litter in and around Expo Lake. 
• Take your own barbecue set and clean the place where you fix it after using it. 
• If you plan to spend a night at Expo Lake, carry all the essentials, including a tent, sheets, pillows, and light sources.

How to Reach 

If you are currently in the UAE or planning to go there to visit Expo 2020 and want to go to the lake, you can go there via the D63 route after the final exit, then turn right on the road, it's basically the same. The road leading to Al Qudra Lakes is easy to use this google map link and find your directions from your current location.
